Geelong West is a suburb that grew from a working class collection of weatherboard dwellings and ale houses into the cosmopolitan pocket of Geelong. With it’s mix of delicatessens, ethnic restaurants and boutique shops, people come from far and wide to visit Pakington Street, the hub of our neighbourhood.
In late 2009 a public meeting was held, resulting in the formation of a steering committee and the birth of GWNH. With generous support from the City of Greater Geelong, members of parliament and local traders, we have begun a program of activities which has been warmly received by our community.
We do not yet have a ‘home’, so all our activities take place at various locations in central Geelong West.
We have ‘open house’ on Mon and Fri mornings, from 10am to 12 noon at 151 Pakington St. Anyone is welcome to drop in.
This provides an opportunity for you to meet us and observe our Art class which is run during those times.
